I won the Katherine Paterson Prize

Hunger Mountain Journal for the Arts is a lit and art mag put out by my grad school, Vermont College of Fine Arts. Every year, the magazine holds a contest for the Katherine Paterson Prize for young adult/kidlit short stories.

And this year, I won! I’m thrilled and flattered to be chosen by judge Kekla Magoon, who is a fellow Northwestern/VCFA grad and current faculty member at VCFA, as well as the author of a number of critically acclaimed novels for young people, including, but not limited to, How It Went Down, X: A Novel, and 37 Things I Love. My short story, “Don’t Quote Me,” will be published at some point TBD in the next few months, and I will share it when it is available.
